In sports such as Obedience and Heelwork to Music being able to look at ease and maintaining a rhythmic movement, be that the dog, the handler or both, makes a real difference to a ring performance. This two day workshop is focused on learning about two alternative divisions of Heelwork to Music, Musical Dressage and Dances with Dogs*. It is aimed to help not only those looking to compete in these alternative classes, but also competitorsworking in the standard classes or in other sports, who want to improve their presentation and ease of movement in the ring. 

Day One will be focused on Musical Dressage and will look at pacing and what suits your dog, floor patterns, positions and directions, achieving flowing movement and different gaits (e.g. walk, trot, canter).

Day Two is all about Dances with Dogs where the emphasis is as much on the handler’s ease of movement and expression as it is on the dog. As such this will include work without the dog on foot patterns, choreography and what is meant by a recognizable dance. Handlers should were comfortable footwear. 

The workshop will be run by Penny Draper, an advanced handler and judge in both of these divisions of Heelwork to Music. 

Handlers can attend one or both days at a cost of £35 per day or £60 for both days. Spectator only places are available at £15 per day. Places will be limited. Tea and Coffee is provided.
